This Cobalt - Chromium - Nickel alloy provides a combination of high strength, ductility, and good mechanical properties and is age hardenable. Elgiloy also has excellent fatigue life, and is non-magnetic. Elgiloy is not sensitive to corrosion by organic acids and shows perfect resistance in salt spray tests. Its behavior in inorganic acids is greatly superior to that of the best stainless steel.
